A trip around the surroundings of Mierzęcin Palace is abundant with numerous historic attractions.
There is a neogothic church from the 19th century in Chomętowo village as well as remnants of the Teutonic Knights defensive structures. While staying in Dobiegniew, it is worth to have a look at historic tenements houses and preserved fragments of fortifications from the 14th century. You can also find here the Woldenberg Museum which was made in place of an old prisoner of war camp in which Polish officers and soldiers were held during World War Two. It encompasses 400 square metres and inside one can find keepsakes from the time of imprisonment as well as elements of old barracks’ furnishings. People interested in visiting other historic palaces and mansions can go to the following villages: Grąsy, Osiek and Głusko. In the vicinity of the last one there is a Hydroelectricity Power Plant “Kamienna” from the end of the 19th century.
