Palace and its surroundings

History

Mierzęcin was mentioned in historical sources already in the Middle Ages. One can find information in the old chronicle that the land was granted to von Osten family. Until 1608 Mierzęcin was their property, and then von Kramme family came into ownership of the land. The 17th century was a period of constant sales of Mierzęcin country, fragmenting of the property and of attempts to merge it.

Interiors

Visible divisions of the elevation correspond to the interior design, especially of the ground floor, the rooms which have been renovated and furnished with antiques in order to restore the ambiance of an old residence. The hall, currently opened up to the first floor, as well as the garden hall with the exit to the terrace and the park are the axis of the structure.

Architecture

The architecture of the Palace and the surrounding area are a classic example of a Romantic mansion built in an English neo-Gothic style. It was probably designed by G. H. Hitzig and constructed between 1861 and 1863.

Park

The park covers an area of 15.28 hectares and occupies the northern part of the layout. It is situated on a longitudinal ground rise, falling from the Palace towards the west and north to the boggy valley of the Mierzęcinka river.
