Among the numerous tourist attractions the most famous is the Międzyrzecz Fortification Region - a unique underground massive defence structure with the biggest European bats sanctuary - visited by tourists from the whole world. Every year about 30 000 bats representing 13 species spend the winter in the undergrounds.
